60TH MONTE-CARLO TELEVISION FESTIVAL

The Monte-Carlo Television Festival held from 18 to 22 June , celebrated its 60th Anniversary this year . Originally created by Prince Rainier III of Monaco , and now under the Honorary Presidency of H . S . H . Prince Albert II of Monaco , the Monte-Carlo Television Festival has , for sixty years , presented the very best of television from around the world . The Festival has also been at the forefront in showcasing the highly talented professionals associated with many of the most successful programs in the history of the medium . Celebrities , producers , directors , writers and heads of studios , networks and digital platforms gather in June every year to attend series launches , premiere screenings , conferences , press activities , public events , VIP meetings and signing sessions . Culminating with a unique competition , which celebrates and honours fiction , news and current affairs programming with the prestigious Golden Nymph Awards , the Monte- Carlo Television Festival is recognized as one of the finest Festivals in the world , enhanced even further by its location in the magical Principality of Monaco . The famous actor Tchéky Karyo received one of the most prestigious awards of this festival , the Lifetime Achievement Crystal Nymph .

A NEW BOOK BY DANIEL BOERI — WIT AND INSIGHT APLENTY

National advisor , president of the Culture and Heritage Commission , author of books on economics , Daniel Boéri is treating us to a new book featuring cameo passages from his life over the past 53 years . RUGBY STARS PARTICIPATED IN WORLD RUGBY SEVENS REPECHAGE IN MONACO TO QUALIFY FOR THE OLYMPICS

On the 19th and 20th June , great stars of Rugby met at Louis II Stadium to face off at the World Rugby Sevens Repechage , a decisive international challenge to select the three best teams to go to the Tokyo Olympics , from the 26th until the 31st July 2021 . Twelve Women ’ s Teams and Ten Men ’ s Teams fought to qualify for the Olympics . Two remaining places to get their passport to Japan for Ladies and just one chance for Gentlemen . The Russia Female Team showed great determination against the Kazakhstan Team and qualified directly for the Olympics . France ‘ Les Bleus ’ Females also brilliantly passed the test . Ireland Sevens overcame any barriers put up by their opponents with some extraordinary passing of the ball . The French Team responded with a great defence after a fantastic final spring by Terry Bouhraoua , cheered to the sky at Louis II Stadium .
