NEW MODERN MONEGASQUE PASSPORTS WITH ADDED SECURITY
As of 1 March 2021 , a new system for producing Monegasque passports will be put into service by the General Secretariat of the Government . This system change is accompanied by the issuance of new passports with modernized visuals and enhanced security . From now on , the period of validity of the ordinary passport for adults will be 10 years for a price set at 90 euros . The period of validity of passports is therefore doubled while the price has only increased by 50 %. There is no change for those under 18 .
FAST SEA TRANSIT BETWEEN MONACO AND ITS NEW PORT IN VENTIMIGLIA
An unusual guest arrived at Port Hercule on 4th February 2021 . Even the world ’ s most luxurious yachts , docked in the neighbourhood , did not attract as much public interest as this 12-metre-long catamaran . Monaco One did not only impress Monaco with its futuristic design , but also shortened the journey from the Principality of Monaco to Italy to 15 minutes . The unusual space design of the catamaran provides not only high speed : 45 nautical knots , but also reduces fuel consumption , making the ship reliable and stable . A 15-minute sea voyage to Ventimiglia can be performed simultaneously by 12 passengers . The Monaco Yacht Club , Prince Albert II of Monaco and the President of the Ports of Monaco , Aleco Keusseoglou welcomed several royal guests for the launch of the 12-metre-long Monaco One catamaran on 8 March . Camille Gottlieb is the official godmother of the shuttle . The ceremony was also attended by Princess Caroline , Princess Stephanie , Pauline Ducruet , Louis Ducruet and his wife Marie Chevallier . The catamaran is equipped with a real-time tracking system for large marine mammals , contributing to the protection of marine wildlife , and cost one million euros .

Edoardo Mortara had a flying start to the 7th Formula e-Prix season for Monaco ’ s Venturi at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia . He caught the world ’ s attention when , after qualifying 4th on the grid in his single-seater , he catapulted past the front-runners to a magnificent second place on the podium . The Italian-Swiss driver reached high speeds of 130 mph when he headed into the most challenging braking zone on the circuit .

HIGH-SPEED FIBRE OPTIC INTERNET COMES TO MONACO

Monaco has finally joined the ranks of other countries who offer high-speed fibre optic internet to their populations . Monaco Telecom is currently connecting each home to this new digital network . Currently , fibre internet is already available for approximately 60 % of households . By the end of 2021 , 85 % of households will be eligible and 100 % of households will have access to fibre in 2022 , according to Monaco Telecom .
