Близ стен Океанографического музея, над самым морем раскинулись
сады Святого Мартина и Святой Варвары. Заложенные
в 1816 году при князе Оноре V, они стали первыми
общественными садами Монако. Прогуливаясь среди типичных
средиземноморских растений, отдыхающие любуются впечатляющими
видами Средиземного моря — точно так же, как много лет назад
известный французский поэт Гийом Аполлинер, искавший в садах
Святого Мартина и Святой Варвары творческое вдохновение.

GARDENS
(Les Jardins Saint-Martin and Sainte-Barbe)
Just at the Oceanographic Museum walls, right across from the sea,
is the home of St. Martin and St. Barbara Gardens. Created in 1816,
under the rule of Prince Honoré V, these were the first public gardens
of Monaco. Strolling through the Mediterranean plants, you will get to
admire some spectacular sea views, just as the French poet Guillaume
Apollinaire did many years ago. He was truly inspired by these gardens.
THE UNESCO GARDEN

Located a stone’s throw from the Fontvieille shopping centre,
the UNESCO Garden is a very nice little public garden. It is as
if it is hidden from the eyes of tourists, so many are not aware
of its existence. The UNESCO Garden is a place full of charm, a haven
of greenery and tranquility, where you can enjoy the sun, fountains
and a picnic in a relaxing atmosphere. Therefore, Monegasques like
to spend their lunch break there.
Sculptures make this dwarf garden a real open-air exhibition. The
garden also offers beautiful views of the harbour and the old fortifications
of the princely Rock.

Расположенный в двух шагах от торгового центра Фонвьей,
сад ЮНЕСКО представляет собой небольшой, но
очень симпатичный общественный сад. Он как бы скрыт
от глаз туристов, поэтому многие даже не догадываются о его
существовании. Сад ЮНЕСКО — это место, полное очарования,
приют зелени и покоя, где приятно наслаждаться солнцем, фонтанами
и пикником в расслабляющей атмосфере. Многие монегаски
любят проводить здесь обеденный перерыв.
Скульптуры делают этот карликовый сад настоящей выставкой
под открытым небом. Отсюда также открываются красивые
виды на гавань и старые фортификационные сооружения
княжеской Скалы.
