Valmet to deliver DCS to Gwangyang biomass plant
Air Products sign agreements with Bechtel Energy
Air Products ( APD ) has signed agreements with Bechtel Energy Inc . to supply its proprietary LNG process technology and equipment to NextDecade ’ s Rio Grande LNG Phase 1 Project in the Port of Brownsville , Texas . The project will include three natural gas liquefaction trains employing Air Products ’ liquefaction equipment with a production capability of approximately 17.6 million tonnes per annum ( MTPA ) of LNG . Air Products ’ coil-wound heat exchangers ( CWHEs ) and AP- C3MR™ LNG Process technology have been selected for their proven reliability for large-scale LNG production . The CWHEs will be manufactured at Air Products ’ world-class LNG equipment manufacturing facility in Port Manatee , Florida . Air Products ’ proprietary LNG process technology and equipment , is vital to helping meet the world ’ s increasing energy needs and desire for clean energy , processes , and cryogenically liquefies valuable natural gas for consumer and industrial use . For over 50 years Air Products has manufactured LNG heat exchangers , which currently operate in over 100 LNG trains in 20 countries around the world . Typically , an LNG heat exchanger can be as large as over 15 feet ( 5 meters ) in diameter and 180 feet ( 55 meters ) long . A finished unit can weigh as much as 500 tons .
Brambati and Luckin Coffee join forces on a new project
Valmet will supply a Valmet DNA distributed control system ( DCS ) to Gwangyang Green Energy Corporation ’ s biomass power plant under construction in Southwest Province in South Korea . The order was placed by Lotte Engineering and Construction Co ., Ltd ( Lotte E & C ), which is the engineering , procurement , and construction ( EPC ) contractor for the plant . The order was included in Valmet ’ s orders received for the second quarter of 2023 . Its value will not be disclosed . The deliveries will start in June 2024 , and the start-up is scheduled for March 2025 .
This is the first time Lotte E & C has chosen Valmet ’ s automation technology for its power plant projects . Valmet ’ s experience and advanced control system offer enhanced operational efficiency and sustainable energy production , as well as improved reliability in operating the biomass plant . Valmet ’ s delivery consists of a DNA automation system , a safety control system , and an information management system to control the boiler and balance of plant ( BOP ) of the new biomass power plant , covering engineering , design , documents , commissioning , and supervision works .

A was commissioned to provide Luckin Coffee , a major chain outlet in China with more than 9000 shops , with a series of roasting machines , along with complete plant engineering . The foundation stone for the production site , which involves a total investment of USD 120M with state-of-the-art emission control and energy-saving technologies , was laid on 16 December , with completion scheduled for early 2024 . |
