Advansor launches CO 2 plug-and-play heat pumps
Denmark-based Advansor has launched new CO 2 plugand-play heat pumps for commercial and industrial applications . “ The lack of skilled people onsite is a well-known problem in Europe . Advansor CO 2 plug-and-play heat pumps are based on well-proven technology , require no safety risk management , and are fully assembled and factory-tested ,” the company ’ s CEO , Kristian Breitenbauch .
Eco de Heat EX wins ECCJ Chairman ’ s award
Chubu Electric Power Co ., Inc . ( President & Director : Kingo Hayashi , Location : Nagoya , Aichi Prefecture ), Chubu Electric Power Miraiz Co ., Inc . ( President : Yasunori Kamiya , Location : Nagoya , Aichi Prefecture ), Degree Corporation ( President : Shigeo Mori , Location : Suzuka , Mie Prefecture ) and Fine Machine Kataoka Co ., Ltd . ( President : Keiji Kataoka , Location : Anjo , Aichi Prefecture ) have jointly developed Eco de Heat EX , a
cleaning fluid heating system using a heat pump . The four companies received the ECCJ Chairman ’ s Award in the Product & Business Model Category of the 2024 Energy Conservation Grand Prize ( sponsored by the Energy Conservation Center , Japan “ ECCJ ”) for Eco de Heat EX . The Energy Conservation Grand Prize is an awarding program that recognizes outstanding energy conservation efforts by companies and businesses
“ The installation is done within a day or two , and thereby frees up time for installing more heat pumps ,” he added , noting that the systems have capacities of 200-700 kW on a single unit and up to 5 MW or more in parallel . The ValueBox heat pumps can reportedly reach a water inlet temperature of 40 C and a water outlet temperature of 95 C . The systems are available in four versions with maximum heating capacity ranging from 311 kW and 654 kW and a maximum cooling capacity of 308 kW to 365 kW . The heating coefficient of performance ( COP ) spans from 2.69 and 2.68 while cooling COP is between 2.82 and 1.91 . The combined COP is purportedly between 5.56 and 4.71 . The systems feature an enclosure for outdoor protection , multiple evaporators for high heating output , fins protected by mesh , and integrated defrost control . It also includes a touch screen for monitoring and control , an adaptive water pump , and a high-efficiency heat exchanger . that serve as models for others , as well as products and business models that excel in energy conservation . The award was given in recognition of the high operating efficiency and space saving of the system , as well as the greatly improved ease of cleaning and maintenance of the heat exchanger compared to conventional heat pump systems , achieved by adopting a method of direct heating of cleaning fluid by the pumpheated refrigerant in the industrial circulating heat pump , which is mainly applicable to the cleaning process of metal machine parts . The four companies will continue to create and provide new value to solve social issues as well as contribute to customers ’ productivity improvement and a decarbonized society .
Mine water heat recovery system to be installed in Katowice , Poland
An agreement has been signed between Polska Grupa Górnicza SA ( PGG ) and Dalkia Polska Energia SA ( Dalkia ) to construct a mine water heat recovery installation at the Myslowice – Wesola Coal Mine in Katowice , Poland . The 2-MW installation will enable the use of geothermal heat from the mine ’ s underground waters and supply this heat to Dalkia ’ s heating system , providing energy savings of 5260 MWh and reducing CO 2 emissions by 1319 tonnes per year . According to the signed agreement , both parties establish the basic directions and a plan of cooperation regarding the construction of a low-temperature geothermal energy installation in the mine . The project is expected to be completed by the 3rd quarter of 2026 . The heat pump installation will be located in a building on the premises leased from the Myslowice-Wesola Mine . This location was selected due to its proximity to both the underground water pipelines and the heating network , as well as having the space for the construction of the installation . The system will extract water at 25 ° C from a depth of 655 meters . A working medium will absorb the heat from the mine water , which will then go through a heat pump to increase its temperature and pressure . A similar mine water heating scheme is operational at Gateshead , UK , which is currently one of the largest mine water heat networks in Europe .
GE Vernova announces first H-Class order in the Caribbean
GE Vernova Inc . ( GEV ) has secured an order to provide its H-Class natural gas-fired combined cycle power generation equipment for Generadora San Felipe Limited ( GSF )’ s Sant Felipe 470 megawatts ( MW ) plant power station in Punta Caucedo , Boca Chica , Dominican Republic . This project marks GE Vernova ’ s first H-Class gas turbine order in the Caribbean . It will contribute to the implementation of the Dominican Republic ’ s climate ambitions and sustainable development goals by supporting the rapid expansion of renewable energy through its dispatchable power profile . The Caribbean country , one of the fastest growing economies in Latin America , has in recent years managed to switch most of its oil-fired generation capacity to
natural gas . Natural gas accounts for nearly half of all energy generated in the Dominican Republic and plays a crucial role in the country ’ s energy transition , as
it supports and complements the expansion of renewable sources . Natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants are the lowest emitting fossil fuel power plants ,
whether measured based on CO 2
,
SOx , NOx , particulate matter , or mercury . The new San Felipe power plant features one multi-shaft generating block , equipped with a GE Vernova 7HA . 02 gas turbine coupled to an H65 generator , an STF-A650 steam turbine coupled to an H35 generator , a triple pressure with reheat Heat Recovery Steam Generator ( HRSG ), and a condenser . San Felipe power plant , built by the Spanish engineering procurement construction ( EPC ) company TSK Electrónica y Electricidad S . A . ( Grupo TSK ), is expected to start its operation in 2027 . The plant is located next to the AES / ENADOM LNG terminal , with a total storage capacity of LNG of 250,000 m 3 .
