RheinEnergie commissions MAN Energy to deliver a heatpump system
Watts Water Technologies , Inc . acquires I-CON Systems
RheinEnergie selected MAN Energy Solutions to supply a 150-MW riverine heat-pump system for its Cologne-Niehl power plant , which is set to be the largest fluvial heatpump plant in Europe , according to the company . Investing approximately EUR 280M in this project , RheinEnergie will deliver climate-neutral district heating to around 50,000 households in the Cologne region . The turnkey solution includes a facility with three large heat-pump units , the district-heating pump station , and river-water and districtheating pipelines . It also features compressors , condensers , heat exchangers , a control system , and electrical infrastructure , with MAN Energy serving as the engineering , procurement , and construction ( EPC ) provider . Three integrally
geared compressors will be manufactured and tested at MAN ’ s Berlin and Oberhausen locations . MAN PrimeServ also signed a long-term service agreement , using MAN PrimeServ Assist to provide real-time monitoring , data analytics , and diagnostics for the electricallydriven compressors . The electricity-powered system , via a thermodynamic cycle with a natural refrigerant , extracts thermal energy from Rhine water and operates with a natural refrigerant in a closed-loop system . It will raise the temperature of district heating water up to 110 ° C and , by replacing fossil fuels , will save approximately 100,000 tons of CO 2 per year . The facility is slated to begin operation in 2027 and meets the requirements of Cologne ’ s district heating network .
Watts Water Technologies , Inc ., – through its subsidiaries , one of the world ’ s leading manufacturers and providers of plumbing , heating , and water quality products and solutions – has acquired I-CON Systems Inc . ( I-CON ), a provider of plumbing control solutions primarily for the corrections market . I-CON ’ s annualized sales are approximately USD 25M . The acquisition was funded with cash on hand . Chief Executive Officer Robert J . Pagano Jr . commented , “ We are excited to welcome the I-CON team to Watts . This acquisition is consistent with our established strategy and further positions Watts for growth . The addition of I-CON ’ s innovative water management systems will allow us to expand our digital offerings
and provide growth opportunities in the correctional niche of the institutional market . I want to thank the teams at Watts and I-CON for their efforts to get us to closing today and helping to ensure a smooth , effective transition as we integrate I-CON with Watts .” President and CEO of I-CON Systems Shawn Bush stated , “ Watts acquisition of I-CON will provide tremendous resources and opportunities for the continued growth of the I-CON brand . Sacome lands in Indonesia
SACOME has recently supplied 2 heat exchangers to one of the most well known chemicalpharmaceutical companies in Indonesia . This multinational company has among its wide range of production known brands of cleaning and disinfectant products , as well as intimate hygiene articles . When the client presented their needs in the offer phase , there were different limitations that greatly conditioned the design of the solution to be adopted . The equipment , intended for batch cooling of a pharmaceutical product , had to be installed in place of an existing exchanger , and its cooling capacity had to be increased . On the other hand , there were space limitations ( the existing space was very limited ), CIP flow rate and the admissible pressure drop was relatively low for a product with medium-high viscosity . With all these restrictions , the Technical Department worked on multiple alternatives , compared several design scenarios , and finally proposed a solution that met all the customer ’ s requirements . It is worth mentioning that the company simulated the batch cooling considering that both the 2 chillers supplied by SACOME and a jacketed tank that the client already had were working together . For this purpose , it had to carry out combined simulations with different thermal calculation programs .
JSW Energy inks deal to acquire O2 Power
