Panasonic has officially opened Europe ’ s first Panasonic HX demonstration facility in Cardiff , UK . The 50-year-old manufacturing plant now uses hydrogen fuel cells powered by green hydrogen , solar PV , and battery storage , all managed by Panasonic ’ s Energy Management System ( EMS ). This installation will power the factory ’ s microwave oven assembly with 100 % renewable energy . Additionally , the factory has replaced its gas boiler with a renewable energy source , combining a heat exchanger and Panasonic ’ s heat pump technology with natural refrigerant R290 , significantly reducing its carbon footprint . Panasonic is unique in its efforts to generate electricity for its factories with 100 % renewable energy by using green hydrogen combined with solar energy to generate electricity |
in-house and control the coordination of three energy sources , including the batteries which store the PV energy when the factory isn ’ t in operation , such as on weekends . The company is committed to the longterm development of hydrogen and sustainable energy solutions as part of its Panasonic HX business strategy . At its Cardiff facility , Panasonic has installed 21 5kW hydrogen fuel cells as part of a decentralised system optimised for the electricity used by the factory , combined with 372kW solar power and 1MWh capacity of battery storage to provide renewable energy to the facility and collect the electricity of the PV system even at times when the factory isn ’ t in operation such as on weekends . The hydrogen fuel cells will use green hydrogen produced in the UK so that no fossil energy is needed to generate the hydrogen . |
The groundbreaking ceremony for Shanxi Huaxing Aluminum ’ s waste heat utilisation project was successfully carried out . The waste heat utilisation project marks a significant step forward in advancing energy efficiency , emission reduction , and environmentally friendly production practices . The project aims to recover waste heat from the flue gas of the roaster by facilitating heat exchange between the roaster ’ s flue gas and the high-temperature section of the fluidised bed cooler using a circulating heat medium water system . The plan is to lower the roaster ’ s flue gas temperature from 160 ° C to 110 ° C and reduce the discharge temperature of the fluidised bed cooler to below 80 ° C . The project will incorporate an advanced automated control system to guarantee the system ’ s efficiency and stable performance . This system will enable real-time monitoring of flue gas temperature , |
flow , and pressure , as well as the temperature and flow of the heat exchange medium . It will automatically adjust the operating parameters of the waste heat recovery equipment based on production conditions , achieving intelligent operation standards and significantly enhancing the system ’ s stability and reliability . Upon completion , the project will replace the steam heating system of the flat disc filter , reducing steam consumption and increasing semen temperature . This change will not only lower the company ’ s energy costs but also significantly cut down on energy waste and environmental thermal pollution . The project is expected to deliver substantial energy savings and consumption reductions , supporting the company ’ s continued progress toward green and sustainable development . It will also contribute to creating a green , low-carbon “ New Chinalco .” |
