Islamic Etiquette 1. Starting each meal with mentioning God’s name (bismillah) 2. Thanking and praising god after each meal (alhumdalluh) 3. eating slowly is recommended in Islam for good health as it facilitates the food being thoroughly chewed easier to digest 4. Moderation and sharing , a Muslim is advised to avoid extremes and to choose moderate course in all his affairs. Prophet Mohammed said :” eat together and not separately , for the blessing is associated with the company”. 5. Eating less, as scientifically proved , is beneficial to health: prophet Mohammed says: “eat less you will be healthier”. “nothing is worse than a person who fills his stomach. It should be enough for the son of Adam to have a few bites to satisfy his hunger. If he wishes more , it should : one third for his food , one third for his liquids , and one third for his breath”
