National School Lunch Week

On October 13, 2017 the Healthy South Texas Youth Ambassadors provided a booth at Zapata High School for National School Lunch Week. During the lunch periods Youth Ambassadors provided information on healthy foods and the importance of physical activity to live a healthy lifestyle. Many high school students stopped by the booth to ask questions about the healthy food models that were being displayed at the booth. Some of the students joined in the fun and did a few simple exercises to have the opportunity to win some incentives.

Students were also very curious about the drinks being displayed with the amount of sugar each drink had. Questions were asked about the amount of sugar other drinks had and what other options they had if they did not want to drink those sugary drinks.
