Treatment and prevention

It is very obvious that the factors that cannot be controlled have no treatment because they are bound to happen. Nonetheless that does not mean osteoporosis cannot be controlled or treated. There are other factors that can be restricted, and other factors implemented in order control the rate of osteoporosis, and to prevent it. Firstly it is very crucial to implement a diet that helps the bones grow and make them stronger. The diet must include of foods with calcium such as low-fat milk, cheese and broccoli, magnesium should be included and it is present in foods such as avocado, banana, spinach, potato, lima beans, and nectarine, not to forget potassium which is included in foods such as whole grains, nuts, oatmeal and peanut butter, Vitamin D being one of the most important is found in fatty fish, and fortified cereals as well as exposure to sunlight, then there is Vitamin K which is leafy greens and cauliflower, last but not least fruits and vegetables. These are the foods that the diet must be rich in. For the diet to work, exercise comes in hand in hand. Exercise is crucial because its aids the bones in growing stronger. To increase one’s strength the recommended exercises include: walking, hiking, jogging, climbing stairs, lifting weights, playing tennis and dancing. Additionally, there should be no intake of alcoholic drinks, no smoking.
