Should I take
A question I get asked often: "Katrina, do you take supplements?"... YES! At minimum I use a high quality multivatamin and mineral supplement, omega 3 supplement, probiotic, and vitamin D3. (I use many more than this, but this is my base.)
Do we need to supplement? You would think that if we are eating whole, nutrient dense, glorous foods, we shouldn't need to supplement. According to Dr. Mark Hyman, "even with a perfect diet, the combination of many things –including our depleted soils, the storage and transportation of our food, genetic alterations of traditional heirloom species, and the increased stress and nutritional demands resulting from a toxic environment – make it impossible for us to get the vitamins and minerals we need solely from the foods we eat."
I've been using supplements for years. I started out with the cheap drugstore ones. But in my years of research, I've discovered that many of these inexpensive, drug store vitamins have issues, so I upgraded. In the last 10-15 years I've only been using vitamin and mineral supplements that are made from whole foods. I have used many great brands like, Mega Food, Garden of Life, Ancient Nutrition (Dr. Axe), etc. I recommend these to my clients.

Supplements?
