GET YOUR THYROID CHECKED By Jean Jeffers, Staff Writer The thyroid gland, which is located in the neck just below your larynx (voice box), produces two hormones, triiodothyronine, (T3) and thyroxine (T4), which regulate metabolism. Thyroid hormones travel via the bloodstream to all parts of the body. According to Hormone Health Network (www.hormone.org), thyroid function is controlled by the pituitary gland, located in the brain. The pituitary secretes a thyroidstimulating hormone (TSH) that prompts the thyroid to produce T3 and T4. Thyroid hormones help all the organs work better. They control ho ܁
