When asked to rate the importance of Centralization and Enterprise Standardization — defined as integrating disparate organizations , implementing enterprise standards and processes , and managing the Medical Staff Credentialing and Privileging processes for various entities as an enterprise — half ( 50.0 %) of all respondents said this initiative was extremely important . Some 29.1 % rated this initiative as very important , 10 % as somewhat important , and few ( 1.7 %) as not important .

The fourth initiative at the focus of the survey , Service Expansion , defined as adding new services , supporting new stakeholders , or assuming new responsibilities , received the lowest rating of the four initiatives . While approximately 6 in 10 reported this initiative was of high importance , only 28.4 % reported this initiative was extremely important and 32.7 % said it was very important . One in five ( 20.9 %) said Service Expansion was only somewhat important , and some 5 % rated this initiative as not important .
