and future ( what their post-pandemic priorities and optimism levels are for the coming decade ).
Based on the research findings , HealthStream prepared three articles to present leaders ’ opinions on the past , present and future of healthcare . HealthStream found that :
1 . Leaders do not believe that initiatives over the past decade left them well-prepared for the challenges of the decade to come .
2 . The majority of organizations have been devastated by the pandemic , both in terms of its financial impact and its toll on personnel .
3 . Despite all this , leaders are optimistic about the future of the industry . There is a short-term need to circle back and address the severe burnout , mental health , and well-being issues of staff . In the longer term , leaders are ready to embrace new technology , re-engage with their communities , address cybersecurity risks , and “ think bigger ” about the opportunities and threats ahead .
HealthStream hopes that you will be informed by these results and that they will support the future thinking and decision-making in your organization . iv
