We barely took our breath and smelled clean air in closed public places such as restaurants and malls to get engulfed again in this black cloud even if intermittent this time.
It might delight some of you that not only in Lebanon, the Smoking Restraint Law in most countries lacks a major component which is complete application …
In my country for example, who presumed that restaurants and kiosks who serve nargileh should be exempted? On the other hand, who is the genius that suggested trickery over the law such as removing a glass façade or half of it or even opening a window? That way, smoking and more specifically nargileh toxic poisons would be allowed in a public and closed place as well!!!
I try to restrain my fury and protect myself as much as possible from the toxic and allergy provoking smoke only to sit in for a surprise that the situation isn’ t better in other countries!
According to the WHO, smoking restraint laws in many countries are not enough; only 5 % or less of the world’ s population are truly protected by law in public places, where second hand involuntary smoking kills around 600 thousand persons a year!
Unfortunately, our weird culture fights against life and struggles against health! Till when I wonder! I pledge to all officials and those involved with the complete application of the law, not to tolerate nor exempt and even issue large fines, imprison the violator, or even seal the place with red wax … to prevent the murderers-even if they didn’ t mean to-from killing others against their will.
Remember my dear smoker, even if I respect your worries and anxiety and your wish to puff them away with the smoke, your freedom stands at a thin line from others freedom and health!
If you still want to commit suicide, do it far away from me; I don’ t want to commit suicide with you nor because of you!

ب ا ل ك اد تنفّس � ن ا واش � تمّ ين ا ا ل هواء ا ل نظيف في الأم اكن العامّة المغلقة من مطاعم ومراكز تجارية وغيرها ،.. حتى عادت الس�هابة الس�وداء -ولو متقطّعة هذه المرّة- لتلفّنا من جديد.. والأمر الذي يس�رّ كم ؟ ليس� في لبنان فقط ، فقوانين منع التدخين في الأماكن العامّة والص�ادرة والمبرمة في معظم دول العالم ، تفتقر يض�أًا الى جراءٕا مهمّ: تطبيقها بالكامل... في بلادي مشلاً: من قال بأنّه يجب اس�تشناء المطاعم او الأكش�اك التي تقدّم ا ل نرجي ل ة ؟؟ او من جهة ٔاخرى ، هٔانّ من ا ل ذكي و » العبقريّ « نٔا نتهايل على القانون ، فنزيل واجهة زجاجية او نص�ف او نفته نافذة ليص�به التدخين وخاص�ّة ابتلاع بخرةٔا النرجيلة الس�امّة مس�موحاً في مكان عامّ ومغلق علاوة على ذلك ؟؟ كظمٔا غيظي وأحاول الاحتماء قدر الإمكان من الدخان القاتل والمزعج والمس�بّب لهس�اس�يّتي وانقطاع نفس�ي ، وإذا بي فاجأٔا لقراءتي بأن َّ الأوض�اع ليس�ت فض�لٔا بكشير في عدّة بلدان من ا ل عا ل م! حس�ب منظّمة الص�هّة ا ل ع ا ل مية ، م ا زالت قوانين منع التدخين الهالية في العالم ، غير كافية: فقط ٪ 5 او كشرٔا بقليل من س�كان العالم ، مهميّون قانوناً وحقاً في الأماكن العامّة ، في حين يقتل التدخين غير الإراديّ او المطاوع حوالى 600 الف ش�خص� س�نوياً! للأس�ف ، ما زالت ثقافتنا الغريبة العجيبة تهارب الهياة وتكافه الص�هّة! ا ل ى متى يا ترى ؟ كلّٔاناش � د ا ل مس � وءو ل ين والقيّمين با ل تطبيق ا ل كامل ل ل قانون ، وعدم ا ل ته اون ولا ا ل تس � امه ولا الاس�تشناء وبل بفرض� غرامات ماليّة كبيرة او حتى س�جن الش � خص� ا ل مخ ا ل ف او ختم ا ل مك ان ب الش � مع الأحمر.. ل توقيف
-ولو كان عن غير س�ابق تص�وّر وتص�ميم- عن قتل الآخرين بدون ٕارادتهم. ولتتذكّر يا عزيزي المدخّ ن ولو نّنئا احترم همومك وتوتّرك و » ن خّف عليها لتنجلي..»: حريّتك تقف
