THE SCHOOL OF NURSING AND MIDWIFERY is based at the Clinical Education Centre within The Royal Stoke University Hospital. The Clinical Education Centre, which opened in September 2004, is a contemporary, state-of-the-art, building, which houses not only the School of Nursing and Midwifery, but also incorporates part of the well-established undergraduate and postgraduate School of Medicine. The spacious and light interior of the building consists of seminar rooms, extensive clinical skills laboratories, inter-professional Health Library and IT laboratories, which not only provide high-tech learning and teaching facilities, but also allow and encourage multi disciplinary learning and team working, an approach that we believe is key to developing a professional healthcare workforce for the future. The School has a high standard of academic staff who are also engaged in clinical practice, which facilitates effective student learning, along with flexible learning and teaching approaches that are used within the School. This enhances further the effective learning of post-registration students who are also working in clinical practice. The School has excellent clinical skills and library facilities to aid learning and teaching and excellent collaborative working with local NHS Trusts and a clear service improvement agenda within all programmes of study. We are committed to the provision of excellence in education and understand the importance of supporting and working flexibly with our students. Our Continuing Pr ٙ\
