Services • Enforce animal control laws • Maintain lost and found pet service • Investigate complaints of animal cruelty/neglect and nuisance and/or threatening animals • Provide spay/neuter assistance to low-income Lake County pet owners • Provide low-cost vaccinations/microchips for pets of Lake County residents • Provide interim shelter and care for stray and unwanted animals, and transport animals to adoption centers and rescue groups • Provide emergency rescue of injured and sick stray animals • Investigate incidents of animal bites and/or scratches • Quarantine biting animals • Submit specimens to the state laboratory for rabies testing • Provide animal control support services to police departments upon request • Provide educational programs (bite prevention, animal cruelty, proper pet care) to schools, community and civic groups, businesses and enforcement agencies Services
