Nutrition Myths Persist Despite Growing Access to Health Information

Nutrition myths continue to influence the way many people eat and think about health, from lowcarb diets to detox cleanses.
While information is more accessible than ever, misinformation remains widespread, often fueled by social media trends and promises of quick results.
Jennifer Landry, co-owner and CEO of Queen City Nutrition, says one of the most common misconceptions she encounters is the belief that carbohydrates are inherently unhealthy.
" The most common nutrition myth would be that carbs are bad," Landry said.
In reality, she said, carbohydrates are the body ' s preferred source of energy, and healthy options such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains play an important role in overall wellness. She also cautions against the idea that entire food groups must be eliminated to achieve better health.
Landry said she believes nutrition misinformation spreads easily because people often seek quick solutions.
