their own motives, and are prone to do a lot of (if you’ll pardon the
expression) “soul-searching”.
The Mature Soul keeps being reminded that all perspectives are
valid but not necessarily correct, and that there are perspectives
on perspectives on perspectives. And so begins the search for a
deeper truth that will ultimately lead back to Oneness.
The Mature Soul may be drawn to artistic expression,
psychology, personal and spiritual development and exploring
other cultures as well as the depths of the human psyche. They
want to understand the core of the human persona - not just from
their limited perspective, but from a variety of perspectives. They
are drawn to understanding themselves on the deepest level. The
Mature Soul’s self-focus is on the pursuit to understand the higher
nature of people.
Because of their willingness to accept and include others, and
their empathy for others’ experiences, Mature Souls can be overly
self-critical at times. Mature Souls are more ambivalent when it
comes to taking sides on any issue because they are able to see
both sides of it.
In order to confront the confusion, negativity and self-doubt
within them, there is often a need to find alone time for
introspection. This may express itself in creative pursuits such as
painting, music, or writing. There also emerges at this level a
desire to explore the deeper and quieter forms of spirituality, such
as Zen Buddhism, Sikhism, Taoism, Wicca, among others.
The Mature Soul’s learning assignment is to understand the
interconnectedness of human beings and the depths of the nature
of Self. Empathy is a core value that they are learning and
experiencing. They work to understand another’s perspective, as
