2.Food prepared with wheat flour, black gram, sugurcane & milk products are favourable in this season. 3. Food prepared from corn, muscles, fat and edible oils should be taken partly as food. 4. To balance out vata dosha eat foods which are sweet sour and salty in taste. 5. Always eat freshly cooked meal when its hot. Use ample amount of oil in cooking. 6. To pacify vata dosha and to prevent skin from drying, Abhyang ( oil massage) should be done regularly to whole body ; especially to scalp and forehead. 7. One should do moderate to heavy exercise according to ones own strength. After this mild scrubbing with herbal powder is done, then take a bath with hot water 8. Quilts made from good quality of wools and soft fabric mat should be used for bed in winters. 9. Always wear socks or footwear at home also. 10. In extreme winter areas, find a suitable, warm space in basement to avoid exposure to extreme cold weather. DON'T S/ THINGS TO AVOID 1. Avoid bitter taste, pungent foods which aggravates digestive fire which is already powerful in this season. 2. Avoid fasting in this season or avoid staying hungry for longer duration and eating very dry foods or very less quantity of food than required. 3. Avoid eating cold food items or frozen food, ice cream, cold drinks etc.
