What kind of changes Hemant Ritu brings in environment and in our
body?
During Hemant Ritu, usually nights are longer and days are small. Moon is
more powerful and provides good strength to people. Thats why Hemant
ritu is known to be a healthy season of all.
Due to outside cold weather of Hemant Ritu, pores of skin gets constricted
and fire gets trapped inside body. Due to build up of fire hunger gets
increased in people, so the digestive power also become powerful. But
then we also need to give fuel to this increased digestive fire or else it may
cause emaciation of body tissues. Hence in this season one must consume
food when hungry and which is predominantly sweet, sour and salty.
. As nights are longer, person feels hungry early in the morning. So one
need to eat early to calm our digestive fire. A small meal before exercise if
hungry.
Though its a relatively healthy season, but due to cool weather it can
aggravate Vata Dosha which can cause vata related disorders, especially
in Vata prakruti people or those who are already suffering from vata
disorders like ‘Osteoarthritis of Knee’, ‘Cervical’, ‘Lumbar Spondylosis’,
‘Neuromuscular Pain’, ‘Stiffness’, ‘Joint Swelling’, ‘Tingling Numbness’,
‘Pain’ etc. Also dry weather causes dry skin problems, feet cracks and
aggravates Eczema, Psoriasis problem. Senior citizens are more prone to
get pain related symptoms this season.
In order to avoid all these problems and to make use of this healthy season
to make ourself healthy, everyone must follow Hemant Ritu Regimen.
DO'S / THINGS TO BE FOLLOWED
1. Since the digestive fire is powerful this season, people can eat heavy to
digest food, soup of meat or cooked meat of well nourished animals. Like
mutton.
