The Stages of Soul Evolution – Part 7
In the six previous instalments of this series on Soul Evolution, we
discussed how all human beings are, in reality, spiritual beings on a
journey. We reincarnate in human form in order to evolve as souls. We are
here to know ourselves and be all we can be, step by step. Our ultimate
aim is to end the cycle of incarnations and become one with the Creator.
It’s a long journey indeed, but that’s okay because the soul is eternal and
our limited human perception of time means nothing to the soul.
There is no urgency for us to become enlightened, or to complete our
cycle of reincarnation. It is not “better” to evolve quickly over a few lives
than to evolve slowly over many lives. Reincarnation is not a race to reach
the end of evolution as quickly as possible. We are not “caught” in the cycle
of human death and rebirth. The physical world is not a hell-hole to be
climbed out of. God is not looking at his watch and wishing we would get a
move on. From the perspective of Spirit, there is no passage of time. Time
is just a perceptual phenomenon for us while in physical form. Souls
