Friday, 28 December 2018 Position and mind Set Clash It was about seven in the evening and I was at home relaxing. The call bell rang and there was a family friend of ours with a familiar looking gentleman. I was mentally trying to figure out where had I met this person. When he introduced himself, I was a bit surprised and overwhelmed. Yes, he was Vishal (name changed) the Country Head of a well-known international MNC in India. I had seen him on TV channels, print & social media and read his interviews. Now, I could recollect him well but was wondering why he has come over to my place. My friend explained the reasons for his un-announced visit. Vishal’s parent company in the US was taken over by another company and they had given a pink slip to the entire top level of the previous management. Since then, Vishal has been trying to get a suitable and equivalent placement. Even though he was brilliant and well experienced, IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad alumni, he was not successful in getting a similar job since the last one year. And in the last one year he had drained out his savings and was now have severe financial crunch, low self-esteem and poor personal relationship with his wife and children. Nobody, including himself, was able to figure out as to why he was not able to get a job with all his background. My friend had suggested that he could try hypnotherapy to find solutions for his mounting problems and he willingly agreed. I offered to take up his case and give him an appointment the next day on priority basis. However, Vishal pleaded that I work with him then and there as he was finding it difficult to even sleep with his mounting problems. Finally, I agreed and took him to my clinic. He was a perfect subject as he wanted the transformation badly and as early as possible. He went into a hypnotic trance almost immediately. Once in a deep trance, he revealed that he came from humble background and grew up the ladder with sheer determination and hard work.
