Raised in Dunedin in Pinellas County, Uliano earned her undergraduate degree from George Washington University and her law degree from Duke University.
Palermo traced Uliano’ s career trajectory, noting her work as a commercial litigator with a prominent Tampa firm, a stint as HCBA CLE director, and her transition to solo practitioner as founder of the Law Office of Amanda M. Uliano, P. A. Beyond her practice, Palermo highlighted Uliano’ s deep commitment to community service, noting her board involvement with organizations such as the Tampa Bay Chamber, Stageworks Theatre, and the University Area Community Development Corporation.
“ If you look at the full picture— her career, her service, her leadership— it all weaves together into one clear pattern: she deeply values the people around her,” Palermo said.
In her remarks, Uliano expressed heartfelt thanks to her parents for their love and support over the years. She also thanked her many friends from the legal community and her non-lawyer friends in attendance for their steadfast encouragement.
“ The legal profession can be demanding, stressful, and at times all-consuming,” said Uliano.“ Your friendship has helped keep me grounded, reminded me there is life outside of billable hours, and made the journey far more enjoyable.” Uliano added that she looked forward to working closely with the newly installed HCBA Board members and collaborating with the new YLD President Alexa Cline during the Bar year.
Uliano told the roughly 250 attendees that her theme for the upcoming Bar year would focus on helping HCBA members“ reconnect”— with the legal profession, with the community, and with themselves.
“ The HCBA helped me fall back in love with a career I had almost walked away from,” Uliano said.“ It gave me community when I felt isolated. It gave me purpose when I felt adrift. It helped me reconnect. And that is exactly what I want this year to be about for all of you.”
