quickly, and we even had a waitlist, showing just how much our members value these opportunities to engage directly with the bench.
This November, we look forward to continuing the series with Judge Caroline Tesche Arkin, who will share her perspective and advice for young lawyers eager to serve their clients and the profession with excellence. We will round out the series with another engaging session this spring. These small-group conversations provide not just practical tips but also the chance to build relationships with our local judiciary— connections that make all the difference in our early careers.
We are also excited to offer new ways for our members to serve each other through mentorship. At our Sweet Tea Moments with a Mentor event on September 4 at Oxford Exchange, attendees heard directly from real mentor-mentee pairs about how they formed these relationships, how they have evolved, and how every young lawyer can find and foster mentorship in our legal community.
Of course, service does not mean we can’ t have fun, too. This August, we re-joined forces with the Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and Tampa Hispanic Bar Association Young Lawyers Divisions for a joint happy hour and school supply drive benefitting the Joshua House. Events like this remind us that building a strong professional community means celebrating together, sharing ideas, and forming friendships that can last well beyond our early years of practice.
When we show up for each other— by giving our time, sharing what we know, or simply lending an ear— we strengthen the heart of our profession. My hope is that this year, each of you finds inspiration to do just that: to make service a daily practice, and to help us build a legal community defined not just by skill, but by care and connection.
Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President. I can’ t wait to see what we accomplish together this year. n

congratulations to the 2025-2026 YLd Officers and directors
