As I conclude my term as President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, I find myself reflecting not only on what we accomplished, but on the adaptability and intention that carried us through a uniquely challenging Bar year. Two hurricanes disrupted our community, impacted our members, and strained our programming timelines. While we set out with ambitious goals for the year, we were quickly reminded that leadership sometimes requires adaptability. nothing could have prepared me for the unexpected personal challenge of my family’ s home flooding in the fall during my presidential year and everything that came with that harrowing experience. Instead of chasing a packed calendar( although it was still very busy!), we prioritized quality over quantity, which happened to be the YLD’ s goal of this Bar year well before Hurricane Helene and Milton hit. continuedonpage9 YLD Board of Directors in May 2025
