It will be green and gold vibes by the Hawkesbury River on Monday 26 January 2026 as the community comes together to reflect and celebrate what makes us great at Australia Day on the Hawkesbury.
This family-friendly community event runs from 5pm to 9pm at Governor Phillip Park, Windsor, and is the perfect way to enjoy the day with friends and family against the stunning riverside backdrop.
The evening will commence with a Welcome to Country and cultural dance performance, acknowledging the Hawkesbury’ s deep and rich First Nations heritage.

Australia Day provides an opportunity to reflect on our complete and complex history, and to understand how reconciliation helps lay the path to a stronger future.
The Thong Throwing Championship returns for its fourth year, featuring junior, adult and emergency services divisions. Will the NSW Rural Fire Service defend their title? Will Fire and Rescue NSW reclaim the trophy? Or will a new challenger rise to claim the coveted Golden Thong? Sign up at the Council tent on the day and stake your claim for the 2026 title.

Also, back after a successful debut in 2025 is the Ultimate Cricket Game. Register at the Council tent to be part of a team, with the competition kicking off at 6.30pm and some great prizes up for grabs.
