ONE OF THE HAWKESBURY’ S FINEST...

Loving the Hawkesbury! Scott and Nicole Hinks with their daughter, Sienna.
by Greg Martin
Every subject of these Hawkesbury’ s Finest articles has had a passion.
Passions which ensured I have tracked them down to share their stories.
Scott Hinks however has more passions than Giacoma Casanova – although not primarily of the feminine variety.
That’ s not quite right because his favourite girls are his wife, Nicole, and their three-year-old daughter, Sienna.
However, his string of other passions includes his extended family,“ living in the beautiful Hawkesbury”, the family’ s fellow neighbours in Windsor, the South Sydney Rabbitohs and last but not least, the much admired Lions Club organisation.
A tiger for his community, Scott has been a Lion since joining the St Ives club in 2019 before switching to Richmond Lions when the family relocated to Windsor in 2022.
The 53-year-old has worn more hats than Josephine Baker during his tenure as a Lion – marketing chairman, second and then first vice presidencies, and then president of Richmond Lions.
But this community-conscious man has risen further in Lions ranks, earlier this year being elected Second Vice Governor for the 201N5 district which covers a huge area bounded by the Northern Beaches, down to Cronulla and out to the Hawkesbury.
The District Governor is the chief representative of Lions International in each district, leading membership growth, new club development and club retention. Their workloads are enormous but fortunately each District Governor has the backing of Second Vice Governors.
A Lions Second Vice Governor assists the District Governor and the First Vice District Governor in the administration of a Lions district, gaining experience for a future run as District Governor.
The role involves supporting the District Governor, fulfilling assigned administrative duties, liaising with the District Global Leadership Team, conducting club visits, and participating in cabinet meetings.
Scott was nominated for the position by his fellow Richmond Lions members, and in an Olympic Games host city voting system, saw off other nominees to secure the coveted position.
“ I am so honoured to have been nominated by my fellow members including my treasured mentor, Roger Sherrington.
“ I see one of my main roles as ensuring Lions make a big commitment to enticing younger people to join our fantastic organisation,” Scott said.
“ Where would the world be without volunteers, Lions, Rotary, Rural Fire Service, Surf Life Saving, to name but a few of the many voluntary organisations lending helping hands to their fellow
