Stronger Together: Veterans Find Connection at Windsor RSL

The Hawkesbury has always held a proud tradition of honouring and supporting its veterans, and now that commitment has grown even stronger with the newly located temporary RSL LifeCare Veteran and Family Hub now open on the premises of Windsor RSL.
The RSL LifeCare Veteran and Family Hub is designed to provide a safe, welcoming place for veterans and their families, offering practical services, social connection, and wellbeing support. From help navigating DVA claims, to employment and housing assistance, to mental health and wellness programs, this is a onestop connection point for those who have served our country.
One of the most inspiring programs currently running is the Noro Music guitar lessons, proudly
supported by Windsor RSL Sub- Branch. Noro is a not-for-profit organisation that uses the power of music to transform lives, delivering programs that support health, wellbeing, and inclusion through creative engagement. Their tailored lessons are designed to be therapeutic as well as enjoyable, offering participants a chance to grow in confidence, reduce stress, and build meaningful friendships through music.
With over 30 participants already involved, the Windsor Sub-Branch guitar program has quickly become a highlight. For many veterans, learning guitar is not just about picking up an instrument- it is
about recovery, resilience, and rediscovering joy. The program also brings veterans together in a supportive, social environment where they can share experiences and encourage each other.
Alongside the guitar lessons, the informal veterans’ coffee catchups at Windsor RSL every Wednesday have become another important way for veterans to connect. These weekly gatherings provide a relaxed opportunity to talk, laugh, and enjoy company over a cup of coffee, strengthening the bonds between those who understand each other best.
The Windsor RSL Sub-Branch
has been instrumental in ensuring these programs thrive, championing opportunities that promote wellbeing, skill development, and social connection. Their dedication reflects the importance of veterans supporting veterans and demonstrates how much can be achieved when local groups rally behind a common cause.
At the centre of it all is Windsor RSL, standing proudly as a pillar of the Hawkesbury community. For generations, it has offered a place of support, respect, and remembrance for veterans and their families. Now, with the addition of the temporary RSL LifeCare Veteran and Family Hub, Windsor RSL is extending that legacy creating a welcoming space where belonging, wellbeing, and connection are at the heart of everything it does.
