Cheers to five years : Hills Food and Wine Festival is back bigger than ever

The Hills Food and Wine Festival is back for its highly-anticipated fifth year , celebrating the thriving community of food and wine enthusiasts in the region . Set against the scenic backdrop of Bella Vista Farm , this large-scale event will be held on Sunday 13 th October and promises to offer an exciting day filled with local and regional food , wine , drinks ,
distilleries , chef demonstrations from not one but two local hatted restaurants , live entertainment , and family-friendly activities .
With an aim to foster community engagement , stimulate economic growth , celebrate cultural diversity , and provide family entertainment for all ages , the Hills Food and Wine Festival has become a beloved tradition in our community .
Each year , this event attracts over 10,000 attendees , all eager to explore the culinary delights showcased by nearly 100 vendors from Sydney and New South Wales .
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant atmosphere featuring an array of wine , beer , distilleries , cocktails , food , and boutique products . In addition to delicious tastings , this year ’ s festival will include live music , cooking demonstrations , engaging lifestyle presentations , live art wall drawing , BMW electric car displays , and kids ’ rides to ensure entertainment for all ages .
“ We are thrilled to bring the community together to celebrate the incredible local talent in food and wine ,” said Meg Wong , Event Director . “ Hills Food and Wine Festival is built on a foundation
of support from local businesses and enthusiastic patrons who share our love for fun gourmet experiences .”
This year , the festival is excited to announce new features that will make the event experience even better :
Live Art Drawing Wall : A huge 4m art wall will be showcasing live drawing , from the famed Georgia Draws a House , of the beautiful Bella Vista Farm and surrounds , where patrons can join in to colour and complete the artwork .
Showcase Pavilion : our huge Matakata Sperry Tent will house a custom-built stage featuring live lifestyle demonstrations throughout the day . This will include cooking demonstrations from renown local chefs :
• Josh Mason from hatted restaurant Quoi Dining
• Alessio Nogarotto from hatted restaurant Cricca
• Alessandro Benini - the Hills ’ finest wood fire chef from Momento
• Incredible Thai from Bella Vista ’ s Sai Nahm Thai Kitchen .
Kellyville Pets will be there to talk all things animals ! They will have a variety of pets at the event , pet advice and will also be giving away a limited number of pet / doggy bandana .
Additional attractions include face painters , food sampling opportunities , a vintage designed event entry for great
instagram pics , balloon twisters and a lolly cart selling sweet treats throughout the day .

celebrates Magic Pudding Day

Norman Lindsay Gallery comes alive with a special day of familyfriendly experiences celebrating the beloved children ’ s book , The Magic Pudding . The special day , at Springwood ’ s Norman Lindsay Gallery , celebrates the whimsical children ’ s book , The Magic Pudding written by Norman Lindsay in 1917 .
A charming day out for children and adults alike , Magic Pudding Day will be held at the Gallery on Saturday 12th October . It offers an array of activities including crafts , a pudding trail , performances by Brook Community Theatre and a scrumptious ‘ The Great Norman Lindsay Bake Off ’ pudding competition to be judged by Jodie Van der Velden from Josophans Chocolates .
To enter the competition , pre-register via the National Trust website and bring your creation to Norman Lindsay Gallery at 11am , ensuring it meets the theme of The Magic Pudding . Winners will be announced at 12:30pm . Brook Community Theatre will be onsite performing Pudding Poems at
11.30am and 2.00pm
This will be a great day out for the family . Pack a picnic to enjoy in the lovely heritage gardens , snap a family shot with the Magic Pudding or under the showstopping spring wisteria arbour , and take a short scenic bushwalk to make the most of the stunning views across the Grose Valley .
