The votes are in – Hawkesbury ’ s overwhelming response to Street Speak

The response to Council ’ s Street Speak public art competition was overwhelming , with 3100 votes cast to choose five winning entries from 24 excellent submissions .
Street Speak is an urban art project that aims to provide a platform for local young people to creatively express their vision and connections to the Hawkesbury through art , and to showcase their talents to the community . Five grants of $ 5000 each have been awarded to : - Colo High School - Merana Aboriginal Community
Association - Bligh Park Community Services - RuffTRACK - Kuyper Christian School The winning artists will be invited to
Kuyper Christian School .
work with one of our three professional mural artists on a prominent project in Hawkesbury – an excellent opportunity to hone their craft and build on their skills .
All submitted artworks will be reproduced and displayed for further viewing , at the following locations :
• Street Speak exhibition , Hawkesbury Central Library from 8 July 2024
• Hawkesbury Fest at Governor Phillip
Bligh Park Community Services .
Park , 4 August 2024 from 10am-3pm
• Street Speak Project opening of Clarendon Skate Park Mural , 11 August 2024 from 12pm-3pm
The Street Speak Urban Art Project is funded under the NSW Government ’ s Graffiti Management Grant ( Western Sydney ) program .
