Windsor Bowling and Sports Club ’ s hot-shot fours teams have qualified to compete at the 2024 NSW State Championships after winning Nepean District titles .
Off to state pennants championships later this year will be the two foursomes which annexed the Nepean District Grade 1 Pennants Championship with an undefeated run . Each club fielded two fours , and each match was decided on combining the scores of each of the teams .
Windsor ’ s two fours teams will head to the state titles full of confidence following their excellent form on display throughout the Nepean titles .
Representing Windsor in the Grade 1 Pennants will be Kaye Quinton , Betty Cox , Val Cant and Anne Gosden ( team 1 ) and in team 2 , Di Paull , Kay Leonard , Cecily Foster and Chris Norklaitis .
Windsor also fielded a fours in the second tier Nepean Shield during the district championships and they too came out victors .
The team comprised Kaye Neich , Tiiu Haly , Helen Chapman and Fay Finniss . The teams were recognised for their wonderful achievements at the district championships by being guests of honour at a special morning tea at Windsor Bowls and Sports Club on January 16 .
The team members were presented with the District Fours Championship trophy as well as individual medallions . Later , the team members were given a guard of honour by club members just prior to the hoisting of the coveted Grade 1 Pennant on the club flagpole .
Special guests at the function were the State Member for Hawkesbury , Robyn Preston , club life members , Margaret Hawkins ( patron ) and Anne Gosden , and past presidents , Kaye Quinton , Val Cant and 95-year-old Joy MacIntosh .
