with Susan Templeman MP
As we start the New Year , thoughts of the next Federal Budget are probably a long way from anyone ’ s mind .
But for us , in government , seeking input from the community on ideas about how we can make life easier for households and businesses is important , that ’ s why we ’ re inviting people to make a pre-budget submission , and let us know what your priorities are and share any ideas you have on how we can make life easier .
|
We know 2023 was tough with rising interest rates and the increases in the cost of living squeezing many people .
Fighting inflation was a key focus for us and as the year ended , there were hopeful signs that the actions we ’ ve taken were helping to ease the pressure . We made a historic investment in Medicare , tripling bulk billing incentives to directly benefit more than 63,000 people in Macquarie when they visit the GP .
Our Energy Price Relief Plan has helped eligible families and small
|
businesses in Macquarie save hundreds of dollars on their energy bills .
Cheaper childcare lowered fees have saved young families from big increases . And we delivered 180,000 fee-free TAFE places with more to come in 2024 . We want to know if you have benefited from these policies , what you think is working and what other ideas or suggestions you have for the Government .
For many national organisations making a pre-budget submission to the government is standard practice .
|
While submission are always open to local businesses , community groups and individuals , many people might not realise this option is open to them .
To ensure that your views are considered , all those interested should make a submission by January 25 , 2024 .
It is always a privilege to represent the Hawkesbury as your Federal Member , and I look forward to continuing to advocate for our community in the year ahead .
Further information is available on the Treasury website .
