South Windsor Park Landscape Masterplan - have your say

In a bid to improve the overall amenity and promote greater community use and enjoyment of South Windsor Park , Council is developing a Concept Landscape Masterplan as a long-term vision for the park . Located at the Mileham Street Netball Complex , South Windsor , possible improvements may include :
- creating accessible path connections and clear entries to key zones across the park .
- creating a loop track with exercise stations .
- creating new activities within the park including facilities for youth , multi-use courts , play spaces and learn to ride area .
- upgrading and rationalising the parking .
- managing stormwater runoff , soften the landscape and increase tree canopy to create cool pockets with shade and seating .
- upgrading and rationalising the netball courts ( pavement and lighting )
- rationalising the buildings on site into a new combined sporting and amenity building that is centrally located and accessible to all .
Community members are invited to see the Concept Landscape Masterplan and complete the survey at www . yourhawkesbury-yoursay . com . au up to midnight on Sunday , 4 February 2024 .
The Concept Landscape Masterplan for South Windsor Park is also available in hard copy during the consultation period at Council ’ s Administration Building , 366 George Street , Windsor , Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm .
Submissions may also be made in writing addressed to the General Manager by mail to Hawkesbury City Council , PO Box 146 , Windsor NSW 2756 , or email council @ hawkesbury . nsw . gov . au by midnight Sunday , 4 February 2024 .
All submissions will be considered and may be included in a Council meeting business paper . Your submission , and any personal information , is accessible by any person upon written application , subject to Council ’ s Privacy Management Plan and the Government Information ( Public Access ) Act , 2009 .
The inclusion of personal information in your submission is voluntary , however , if not provided , may affect consideration of the submission . The information will ultimately be stored in Council ’ s records system .
Development of this landscape masterplan does not represent a formal commitment to funding . This concept plan is a guiding document , its main purpose is to consider potential future usage of the site and to inform future capital works budgets . Full development of the park will not be completed in the short to medium term .

Light Up Windsor Street Fair proves to be the biggest ever !

More than 18,000 people came along to Light Up Windsor Street Fair on Saturday evening , 2 December to celebrate Christmas and enjoy all the fanfare and yuletide fun !
Santa and Mrs Claus were a huge hit with the lighting of the Christmas tree a highlight of the evening , while Council ’ s awardwinning ‘ Find a Reindeer ’ passport activity was great fun for all the kids and their families to go and find the reindeer for a prize .
The ultimate prize winner was announced by the Mayor of Hawkesbury , Councillor Sarah McMahon on the entertainment stage on the night . The prize was a $ 500 Hawkesbury family pack , which was a $ 100 Voucher for Richmond Regent Movie Theatre , $ 100 voucher for Cricca Restaurant , $ 100 voucher for Hillbilly Cider , $ 50 voucher for Twiins Ice Creamery Richmond , $ 50 Voucher for Windsor Ten Pin Bowling and $ 100 Hawkesbury Hamper .
The winner had found the bonus eighth reindeer – Rudolph – before the event as part of the Light Up Windsor event promotion . If you would like to participate in the ultimate prize draw in 2024 , follow Council ’ s Facebook and Hawkesbury Events on Facebook to hear about it in advance !
Visitors enjoyed a silent disco in Thompson Square as well as snow flurries , Christmas lights , free face painting , roaming entertainment and free on-stage entertainment and fun family activities .
A bumper 70 market stalls extended along Windsor Mall , George Street and Baker Street . Market stalls were selling Christmas decorations , homewares , pet gifts , handmade jewellery and more , plus many of the Windsor Mall shops , cafes and restaurants were open .
Light Up Windsor brings the community together and it is a major economic driver for local businesses . In 2022 , Light Up Windsor injected a 30.38 per cent boost to the Windsor economy for total $ 1.373 million retail and dining and entertainment spend for the day .
