Girls elite football playing in the Skills Acquired Program ( SAP ) has helped give talented young female football players all over NSW the opportunity to develop their skills at an accelerated rate and improve in leaps and bounds . The girls program is

When a group of parents who had girls playing in mixed SAP with the boys all came against each other in various futsal indoor soccer tournaments , they quickly realised the same girls who became friends were playing against each other in the end of these tournaments .
So , what about if we made a side for the girls out of all of the various girls who play in mixed teams and enter some of these tournaments as a combined girls team ?
The seed was planted , and the idea was underway . This is how Girls With Goals came about . The parents voted and decided that since the

girls were driven , committed , and dedicated , they would put together this team to enter various dedicated female tournaments .
Finding the coach was not hard . Tyson Aquillina brought his experience as a physio and exercise physiologist along with him and a strong sense of organisation to help put this idea into fruition .
The players came from many clubs with all of the girls coming into this team coming from mixed teams programs and included Mt Druitt Town Rangers , Hills Utd , SD Raiders , Nepean , Hawkesbury FC , Marconi , Blacktown City and even Glossodia in the Nepean District .
The clubs who had the players registered to them were supportive of the idea because it would give their female players an opportunity to compete in tournaments in a dedicated girls team , without jeopardising their place in their relevant clubs - the parent clubs always took priority when the girls were required . This worked as all the girls were registered under Football NSW registration and insurance scheme .
This was the first year that this team was established and to date have picked up some amazing sponsors who have also helped make all of this happen . The kit was designed by Deploy and is blue and white because the girls don ’ t like wearing pink . Six sponsors came on board for the girls ’ first season including Healthy Living Concepts Physiotherapy , Anglind ’ s Jockey Management , Cabramatta Ink , Plus Fitness Wolli Creek , Hunter Excavations and Sungen Solar and Batteries .

This is how they developed the side for the Kanga Cup with a core group of girls and continued to add players that are compatible to their style . They approached clubs to see if they could get players to give them an opportunity to play in this team at tournaments .
There are challenges in entering the team into girls ’ tournaments as some of the players are registered in Boys SAP , but most people have been incredibly supportive of the team and the girls . It is a great development opportunity for them and provides confidence building skills on the field .
They have entered into the Sydney International Cup at Narrabeen , and three girls made the Australian Futsal side to go to the UK in October . The team have won three competitions undefeated and are really excited with their success . Their own clubs are supportive as the extra competition helps the players ’ skills further develop . Five girls have also made the WS Wanderers Football Development program .
The girls are a range of u11s and u10s girls plus a few u9s .
The sky is the limit for these incredibly talented young girls !
