The Hawkesbury Art Fair opens on 23 September at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery until 23 October , and it is a celebration of local creative activity not to be missed . |
The art fair celebrates the dedication , hard work and creative energy of our region . It ’ s also an opportunity for local artists to sell their work , and for residents and visitors to the area to buy original art from the region ’ s best known and most accomplished artists .
The fair will feature traditional and contemporary artists , designers and crafters who are living and working in the Hawkesbury .
There are many local art organisations represented in this year ’ s art fair , including :
Hawkesbury Community Arts Workshop : a unique organisation with a long history , located in the grounds of Western Sydney University , Hawkesbury , ( formerly Hawkesbury Agricultural College );
Piggery Lane Studios : who host artists and residents whose artworks cover a wide range of mediums , styles , and subject matter .

Hawkesbury Artists and Artisans Trail : a non-profit organisation established to promote local , professional and emerging artists through their premiere event the Annual Open Studio Weekend ;
Hawkesbury Camera Club : a diverse group of enthusiasts who share a common interest of photography whose members come from a wide variety of professions , experiences and backgrounds , ranging from beginners to professionals .
Macquarie Towns Art Society : a growing , progressive organisation which caters for its 100 plus members ;
Ferry Artists : a group from which many well-known Hawkesbury artists have origins with and the collective is honoured to have been part of their journey .
FOHacaRG : Friends of Hawkesbury art community and Regional Gallery ; and
Hawkesbury Re-Makery : a creative reuse centre to support creativity , sustainability and wellbeing .
All works in the art fair are for sale and include a broad range of items from handmade jewellery to etchings , textiles , oil and watercolour paintings , ceramics , drawings , mosaics , sculpture and photography . There is something for every art enthusiast and collector .
This year the Hawkesbury Art Fair has also teamed up with the Sydney Craft Week Festival , to present Crafting the Hawkesbury . The Sydney Craft Week Festival begins on 7 October with 180 + events including 80 + workshops and 38 +

exhibitions across 45 suburbs .
This is the first and only festival in Sydney dedicated to making by hand . This year events focus on the climate emergency , sustainable practice and making a difference for the environment .
Crafting the Hawkesbury celebrates the craft and design of west and north western Sydney , through a series of small exhibitions , creative workshops and artist talks as part of the gallery ’ s annual Art Fair .
The program explores our connections to makers across our region including emerging and established artists from the Nepean and Blue Mountain regions as well as those closer to home in the Hawkesbury .
Participate in artist-led workshops and listen to artists ’ talks and purchase their work . The program will also include a drop-in Craft Cave for kids and young at heart throughout the entire festival !
The 2022 Hawkesbury Art Fair will officially open at our event on Friday 23 September , 6 - 8pm . Art sales will commence from 6pm on Friday 23 September .
