Long serving Lion
Diane Sherrington was recently congratulated and honoured for her 45 years of service with Lions Australia .
The Richmond Lions Club member was presented with a certification of recognition by Lions Sydney N5 district governor Sunil Amaratunga .
Mrs Sherrington has held many positions at Richmond Lions , including the role of president .

Built around 1836 , it ’ s a fully licensed Georgian pub that ’ s greeted , fed and sheltered pioneers , farmers , travellers and day trippers for over 180 years .
Built with convict-cut sandstone , the inn , located opposite the Macdonald River in the heart of St Albans village , was also a stopover for Cobb & Co stagecoaches .
It ’ s been owned and operated by Ian and Gabrielle Burns-Woods and family for over 30 years .

Accredited first aid training
Council ’ s recovery team is offering accredited First Aid training for residents throughout the district until the end of the year .
It entails a compulsory four-hour online component and a full day Saturday session .
Upcoming locations include Glossodia , 30 July ; Upper Colo , 3 September ; Ebenezer , 1 October ; Wisemans Ferry , 5 November ; McGraths Hill , 3 December .

Cemeteries tour
Walk through some of Hawkesbury ’ s oldest and lesser-known cemeteries in McGraths Hill and Pitt Town on a council run driving tour .
The Methodist Cemetery at McGraths Hill was established in the 1850s , with over 80 headstones including many of Windsor ’ s business owners .
Notable headstones are Reverend Peter Turner and his wife Mary , who were missionaries in Tonga and Samoa in the mid-nineteenth century , as well as several members of the Chandler family , including the local undertaker James Chandler , who died in 1919 , and who was also the mayor of Windsor Council on three occasions .
The older and larger Old Pitt Town Cemetery has many pioneer family names inscribed on the headstones . Here you can visit several graves including Ann Smallwood ( nee Grono ) and midwife Granny Greenfield .
Tours cost $ 10 pp and is on Thursday , 14 July 2022 10:00am to midday and Saturday , 23 July 9-11:00am .
