SWEET SACRIFICE... PAGE 4 Kayla Darling, a Mill Creek Junior, recently cut off her long, brown hair in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She mailed it to the Pantene 'Beautiful Lengths' program (it took two days to dry!). So many teachers and students at MCHS have a personal connection to this terrible disease having watched family and friends battle it. Seeing a teenager do something so small, yet so meaningful, just makes us feel great about the young people we're sending into the world. Thanks for the inspiration, Kayla! More fun visits to our feeder school bring smiles... Our students are continuing visits to our feeder schools, most recently to Puckett's Mill Elementary. Students went during first and second periods to greet students and parents as they arrived at school. It was like going to a mini-Mill Creek with the traffic! Maybe the number of kids riding in the carpool lane was up due to the students coming or maybe it is always that way...but holy smokes! We took a larger group this time, as we have learned we need students greeting kids inside the school as they get off the bus as well. We included a few new faces on this trip as Gary Holness, Jordan Sylvain, Sydney Sawyer and Carter Governale joined the veterans DeVozea Felton, Micah Bull, Andrew Sciara, Ben Otiwu, Caroline Awtry and Kendall Schwefler. We are still planning visits to Fort Daniel, Harmony and Patrick. We will then begin our classroom visits as we will start going to read to the students of each of our feeder schools.
