Several of MCHS Social Studies Honor Society students placed at the event. Congratulations on a job well done! Mill Creek High School The PTSA Reflections program is excited that four Mill Creek students won at the state level of competition. They are: Yasmin Goreja 2nd place in 9th grade photography, Justin Thongsouk 1st place in 9th grade music, Savannah Peat 3rd place in 10th grade literature and Mekinsey Bullock 1st place in 11th grade photography. The theme for 2013-2014 is “Believe, Dream, Inspire”. It is never too early to begin working on your entry. National Art Honor Society students create portraits for orphans in Haiti. The Memory Project is an event where high school students have the opportunity to create portraits of orphans from around the world. The hope is to make these children feel special and wanted. This year Mr. Lasseter's NAHS students created 20 original portraits to given to the orphans as gifts. Relay for Life Mill Creek raised over $38,000 for Relay for Life! We had a great turnout including 15 students who spent the night. You can still make a tax deductible donation to the American Cancer Society for our team: go to www.gwinnettrelayforlife.org and click on the orange donation button. Donations for the 2013 Relay for Life will be accepted until 8/31/13. MC READS!! The Mill Creek Media Center's web-page has been updated with the list of all students and their books they chose to read for MC READS. The date for MC Reads will be Friday, August 9th. www.mchsmedia.com ? Senior Benjamin Wilson has been named Mill Creek's Gifted Student of the Year. Ben was honored at the county-wide spring awards ceremony sponsored by the Gwinnett Alliance for Gifted Education on Thursday, May 2, at the Gwinnett Environmental and Heritage Center in Buford. He will be attending Georgia Tech in the fall. Congratulations Ben! ? Richard Fuller is the Mill Creek winner of the Vincent J. Dooley Award presented by Athletes for a Better World. This award recognizes athletes for their distinguished individual character, outstanding teamwork, and citizenship. ? Congratulations to Tori Windom and Andrew Klemm for being recognized as Mill Creek's Outstanding Senior Athletes at a banquet at the Gwinnett Marriott ?
