I normally staff the attraction and assist with makeup, construction and security the night of the event as well as lending some of my original characters into the mix for a maximum scare factor! Last season the House of Darkness Hosted a charity booth for the scares that care charity a non - profit 501 c3 certified charity that brings horror fans together to help fight childhood disease. that evening a Michael Meyers mask signed by Taylor Main was raffled off to help the charity.

So, if you are so inclined this Haunt season On trick or treat night, come on out to the Little town of Marysville P.A. to 514 Lansvale st

And check out the House of Darkness! The Soul collectors will be waiting!!!

Now my fight fans as an added bonus I give to all you aspiring haunted attraction workers out there my personal Haunters survival Kit! This is a list of things or items that haunters can easily carry on them or put in their "scare area" Just in case.

1. " you card" this is a card with your name, addres,s emergency contact person and number listed. also, it would be helpful if you list serious medical conditions you may have in the event you become unable to communicate.

2. a bottle of water. scaring is a fun job but, before you know it you can become dehydrated and dizzy if you do not drink enough.

3. Extra makeup and blood. (always good for touch ups)

4. If working an outdoor haunt, it's good to keep dry socks and/or an extra set of warm clothes for those very cold nights.

5. a small sewing kit Just in case of a wardrobe malfunction.

6. a small first aid kit. nothing fancy just a dollar store kit will work.

7. a light stick and a small flashlight just in case you lose your way, ( trust me its happens all the time to the best haunters)

8. An energy bar or small snack to keep the scare juices flowing.

9. A zip lock bag to keep everything dry.

10. If working at an outdoor haunt, A rain poncho for those unexpected showers we all love so much. Ha ha ha ha ha!

11. duct tape (self explanatory) come on who does not use duct tape!

12. A small pocket knife. nothing big, we are not making another Rambo movie so don't get crazy.

13. And last but, not least a good work ethic. Have fun haunting but, always remember you are dealing with the public and people can be very unpredictable, so, stay safe and keep your head in it at all times to ensure everyone has a great time at your haunt.

Now this list will not be perfect and is not meant to save the day. as a 21 year plus haunter these are just some of the things I have found that I have needed in a pinch and have saved my butt on more than one occasion. So, my friends I leave you now to prepare for the haunt season.
