Even by global terms, it is hitting the market as anyone’s favorite drink, these days, and has now reached the Philippines. Filipinos go gaga over it because of its refreshing, milky goodness and the health benefits that give one the joyful vibes. When you pass by the malls, in all the corners, milk tea stands are a sell-out. In a commercial area, where foot traffic is heavy, you’ll see milk tea stores briskly operating. The Filipinos are also health-conscious; thus, the turn to milk tea. Those who know the benefits associate milk tea with improved cardiovascular and immune system because of the nutrients contained in milk and tea. Time Magazine wrote, “Drinking freshly brewed tea can help boost exercise endurance, reduce the risk of heart disease, fight free radicals, lower the risk of Parkinson’s disease, improve bone strength, and it may even counteract the negative effects of smoking.” Milk tea is also a happy drink for those who need to take a break from work or divert their attention from everyday worries.
