Another popular artist during this time was Aaron Douglas. He was mostly famous for painting murals during this era. Part of what made him so significant during the Harlem Renaissance was how he saw how African Americans could use this era for good. He wanted more African Americans to get involved in the art scene in Harlem and used his status to help get him there.
Some of Douglas' most famous work included a mural on the New York Public Library. The point of this mural was to keep the public constantly educated about the history of African American people in America. He left quite the legacy for modern artists teaching them to never stop educating people through art work.
