Short description
These examples are based on experience achieved during 30-hour pilot, where different
methods and tools were tested. Important to understand that use of this example must be
tailored to the occupations of the target group.

Useful assessment- identifying what your students know and need
If there is made a description for the occupation, which is target group for our training, then
this tool, is useful to bring in as part of planning. Any way it is wise to ask the employer which
devices, apps and programs they use today. Also, important to ask if digital solution in some
way can make work more efficient and train the employers on such tools. Digital tools may be
used for different working operations and understand its function is important for the trainer. In
common for all purposes is the fact that basic knowledge within digital skills is important both
as employee, but also as citizen to deal with digitalization in a wide range of fields.
Employees may have different roles within the use of digital tools, which important for the
trainer to understand:
collection of information
process information
internal communication, like mail, sms, Skype, calendar etc.
external communication, to customers, suppliers, governmental institutions etc.
sales and marketing tools, including presentation tools
speed up the production process as operating machines, work smarter etc.
administration tools as time management, order merchandise or similar,
project managing tools for control, planning, economic overview etc
Based on all this information, you will understand the context and make training, examples
and tasks relevant for the employee.
Mapping of digital skills
European Union have made a digital competence conceptual reference model, which may be
a useful tool for both collecting and structure the student’s skills. Competence areas is:
Information and data literacy, Communication and collaboration, Digital content creation,
Safety and Problem solving.
To map, trainers may use special testes, self-assessment or in some cases online mapping
tools.
