In the fall of 1955, Hamilton Park School campus opened at 8301 Towns Street,
Dallas, Texas. The school housed both elementary and high school students,
grades 1 through 12. Mr. Felix L. Jones was named the first principal of the school
until his death, June of 1968.

The first PTA president was Marguerite Coit.
The students chose the Bobcat as the mascot with red and white as the school
colors. From the time Hamilton Park School opened, the students earned
reputations in scholarships and athletics. There was a tight bond developed in
Hamilton Park. The community raised money for band instruments, uniforms and
library books. The school excelled in track and field, football and debates. The
track team placed 2nd in the 1958 State Track Meet.
