576 . SANTA RARE 7 / 8 ” BUTTON WITH WHITEHEAD & HOAG BACK PAPER C . 1915 . 7 / 8 ”. Cello front is a hair concave and . 25 ” of collet has very mild oxidation . These minor issues are greatly exceed by the graphic and richly colored Santa . With close attention , his toy sack can be seen upper right . Upper left , what looks like tiny yellow stars in a dark sky , with a glass , turn out to be a background of green holly - accented by a single red berry at far right near 3 o ’ clock . While his left shoulder clearly shows a toy sack strap , what he holds in his right hand is unclear- he could be removing a darker brown bag strap or holding the reins of unseen reindeer . And he is further distinguished among Santa buttons as having bare mitten-less hands ! Exc . Rare . ( I / J ) $ 200.00 577 . SANTA “ FROM THE THEATORIUM ” FIRST SEEN IMPRINT BUTTON C . 1910 . 1.25 ” w / curl naming maker The Meek Co . We ’ ve seen this design five times and each was different . This reads “ A Merry Xmas And A Happy New Year / From The Theatorium / Always A Good Show .” For the record , we also had this design one time each as : a no text salesman ’ s sample , Santa for Sunshine Bread in Westfield , Pa ., Santa for Stoltenberg ’ s Shoes in Albany , Oregon and Santa for his Little Friends of the Atlanta Journal . Just a tad more than typical oxidation on metal back . Cello is Exc . Rare . One known . ( H )
