Hagerstown Suns Hit One Out of the Park with a New Ticket Pricing Structure. by Charissa Hipp
In keeping with their longstanding commitment to provide unique, quality entertainment at a great value, the Hagerstown Suns have introduced a new ticket pricing structure for the 2013 baseball season. In years past, the Suns offered a“ one size fits all” general admission ticket for the public.“ There had been a little bit of an outcry that there were no discounted senior ticket prices,” says Paul Krenzer, director of ticket operations for the Hagerstown Suns,“ and I was often asked if there was a military discount.” As a result, the front office staff approached the owner about a new pricing structure and he gave his approval.“ It’ s necessary,” Paul says.“ It’ s something that we should do because it shows respect, and it gets more people to the ballpark.”
The Suns are now proud to offer discount pricing for kids, seniors and military personnel. The price for seniors and military personnel is $ 7 for general admission bleacher and grandstand seating and $ 10 for VIP reserved seats. Anyone 60 and older qualifies for senior tickets. To receive the military discount, patrons must present their military ID at the ticket office. Kids 13 and younger qualify for $ 5 general admission tickets and $ 8 VIP tickets. Adult general admission seats cost $ 9 and VIP reserved seats are $ 12. The new pricing structure is already a hit with fans.“ We’ ve heard nothing but compliments and have received lots of good feedback so far,” says Paul.
For fans who like to attend multiple games throughout the season, the Suns have a new and improved 10 Game Flex Plan that stands up to its name.“ We’ ve had flexible plans in the past and last year we got away from that, but this plan offers people the opportunity to purchase undated passes that fans can use for any home game. That way they don’ t buy them and waste them,” Paul says.“ They can use multiple passes to any game they want. It’ s a very worthwhile package.” The 10 Game Flex Plan can be purchased for $ 79.
Another alternative is the Hall of Fame Plan, which consists of six select games including two Buffet Days, two Giveaway Nights, one Fireworks Night, and one Thirsty
, in addition to other package perks. The plan costs $ 69 for general admission seats and $ 80 for a reserved seat in the orange field-level seats.
Full season and half-season plans are available for the most die-hard fans at both reserved and general admission prices. Plan add-ons like the Belly Buster Plan offer nine select games of Feed-Your-Face foods and fun. Another add-on, the All-About-You Plan, offers six undated General Admission tickets and the chance to win fun prizes like a limousine ride with Woolie to a game of your choice or have the grounds crew mow your lawn.“ Although the new pricing is a significant part of how we will continue to listen to the needs of our fans and the community as a whole, the increased fan experience is what we are focused on for this year,” says General Manager Bob Bruchey.“ Minor League Baseball is the closest form of professional entertainment we have, and the ability to bring that entertainment and make it a family fun and interactive experience is what having a hometown ball team is all about.”§
