Physical Therapist Andrea Stone( left) works with a patient in Parkway’ s expanded physical therapy area. PNSI patients suffering from brain, spine and nerve problems benefit from having a variety of practitioners and testing capabilities— including an upright MRI( right) at Parkway Radiology— under one roof.
The added exam rooms alone already are making a huge difference for patients.“ We have more availability among our providers because we have more space in which we can see patients,” Kara says,“ so we’ ve been able to increase to meet the demand of the community because of our physical increase.” Dr. Thomas Larkin, pain management physician and managing partner, adds,“ We’ re always looking to bring on new providers, too, and we’ re looking at the possibility of expanding in different specialties as well.” Patients in need of physical therapy are now treated in the new, 7,500-square-foot rehabilitation area, which is triple the size of the previous space. PNSI has also been able to expand its hours, scheduling convenient patient appointments from 7 a. m. to 7 p. m., meaning patients can be seen by a doctor sooner— less than a week in most cases.“ And that’ s really important when you have people in pain. Why make them wait?” says Marketing Coordinator Morgan Smith.
