3 2 1   Stylish Nights, Dark Days: Venice. Words by: Scarlett Grey The young minds of today have many vessels in which we can express individuality. For some, it’s that retro chic fur coat on the bargain sales rack of a niche thrift shop, found on the corner of some desolate street. For others it's the intelligent conversation of like-minded individuals mutually deceiving each other into thinking we're geniuses. I've however found the best way to pass the time is to travel to those renowned cities and see the sights, drink in the atmosphere, curse the pollution and vow to never return. Of course places are never as beautiful, scenic or pleasant as they're tooted to be. But the genius is in the experience. For example when people accolade Venice as THE place to go, they forget that it's a port city and smells like congealed fish 24/7, that the locals are positively sick of tourists not following the rules and that for most of your trip you'll be positively motion sick in the various water transportation vehicles. Still, as mentioned before, it's an adventure. You'll eat some of the most amazing food, do the strangest of things and maybe even widen your perspectives a little bit more. In this review I'm going to list a couple of things you can do in Venice. One: watch the sky at night... Not for the stars or the moon darlings they're almost non-existent when put next to the glorious luminescence of the city lights. Although a good friend of mine claims that 'gazing attractively at the not so visible moon and stars whilst trying really hard to ignore the city lights, is what stylish young things like us should be doing.' each to their own, I say. During the day simply wandering around can be immensely satisfying. If you love architecture and the aesthetics of buildings, you don't even need to in anywhere. There is nowhere like Venice, no two pieces of its structure are similar, as you'll find out when you inevitably get lost. Don't forget to take your maps!! In between the wandering, you can grab a coffee in St Mark's Square. 004
