Banská Štiavnica

From 22nd to 24th March 2018 my classmates and I participated in learning activity in Banská Štiavnica. On the way to Banská Štiavnica our teachers gave us CLIL materials which we had to fill in before the activity itself. After a long way we finally arrived to Tihanyi castle in Banská Bystrica. They had prepared some activities for us. We were most interested in the issues of conserving and preserving water. In the end we watched educational film called ,,Living river´´ about Slovak river Bela which flows in The High Tatras National park. Then we went to the health and spa resort in Sklené Teplice. There was a guide waiting for us to accompany our group to the spa and gave us a talk about possitive effect of thermal water on human body and treatments they offer to visitors. Some of us also bathed in the thermal pool Banske. And then we came to the guesthouse called ,,Príjemný oddych´´ where we stayed for 2 nights. Our next day started by playing games on meadow. It was really funny. Then we visitted ,,Tajchy´´- artificially water reservoirs in area of Banska Stiavnica. The workshop was really engaging and after lunch we went on hiking tour. We were looking for minerals which we grinded in the Slovak Mining Museum. I really liked it because we were doing a lot of things on our own and we also had nice souvenirs. Then we went to the guesthouse where we had some free time and then we were doing an evening activity. It was about painting the Picture closely connected to water and it was fun. After the activity we went to sleep and next day we returned back home. We have learned a lot of new things and it was great experience. I am already looking forward to a new project at our school.
