you can see that the author doesn’t care how comforted and peaceful things are, there isn’t a good time to say good bye. All of these negative feelings that the reader has is basically because the author feels that saying goodbye is irritating or aggravating. Also this could be a pet peeve, which puts even more anger into his text.
In lines 18-25 the author quickly switches to a negative and bitter tone in order to create a demanding tone towards the reader. I say this because the author is mad and wants the reader to understand the point he is trying to make. Also he uses authority in his voice to catch the reader’s attention. When the author said “South America we cuss you to your face” (Persaud lines 20-21) you can quickly see the negativity and bitterness building up in him.
